What Valour means

“Valour means courage. Strength in the face of danger. The willingness to show up, no matter the circumstances.”
It is what a nurse brings to a ward at 3am. What a paramedic brings to a roadside in the dark. What a teacher brings to a classroom full of kids who need them. What a firefighter brings when everyone else is running the other way.
We named this business Valour because the people we serve embody it every single day. The least we can do is make sure they get the same dedication when it comes to their finances.

Built for the people who keep regional Australia running

Valour Financial was built with one focus: helping essential workers get into property and access the finance they need on their own terms. We understand your pay structure, your shift allowances, and which lenders will count your full income. Whether you are buying your first home, upsizing, investing, or need a car loan, we do the heavy lifting so you can focus on the job.

What essential workers can access

01

LMI Waivers

Many lenders waive Lenders Mortgage Insurance for eligible essential workers, saving tens of thousands with the right lender. Eligibility depends on your profession and the lender. We know exactly which ones apply.

02

Full Income Assessment

We find lenders who count 100% of your overtime, penalties and allowances. Not just your base pay. This can significantly increase what you can borrow compared to going direct to a bank.

03

HECS and HELP Debt

If you have HECS debt, it may be far less of a problem than your bank told you. The right lender, depending on how close you are to paying it off, can exclude it from their servicing assessment entirely or apply a reduced buffer.

03

First Home Buyer Options

We compare the Government 5% Deposit Scheme against essential worker LMI waivers and recommend the right path for your situation. The Government scheme has property price caps that many regional homes now exceed. When that is the case, the LMI waiver is often the better option.

04

Discounted Interest Rates

Some lenders offer genuine rate discounts specifically for essential workers. That means a lower rate from day one, not just a better loan structure. We know which lenders offer this and whether it applies to your profession.

Michael Nalesnyik
Director and Mortgage Broker

I have been a mortgage broker for over ten years. In that time I have helped hundreds of Australians buy homes, refinance, and build wealth through property. But a few years ago I made a deliberate decision to narrow my focus to essential workers and I have not looked back.
My family includes nurses, teachers and frontline workers. I have sat in hospital waiting rooms and watched what those people do. I have seen the hours they put in, the pressure they carry, and the genuine care they bring to their work. That connection made it an easy decision to build Valour Financial around serving the people I admire.
Today my focus is essential workers across regional Australia. People who keep their communities running and deserve a broker who actually understands their situation. I know which lenders count 100% of overtime and penalty rates. I know the LMI waiver policies by profession. I know how to structure an application for someone on a roster, a contract, or a casual arrangement. That specialist knowledge is what I bring to every single client.
I live in regional Victoria with my wife and three young kids. We love the country lifestyle, the space, the community, the pace of it. It is why I focus on regional Australia. I understand what it means to build a life here, and I want to help more essential workers do the same.
When you work with Valour Financial, you deal with me directly. No call centres, no handoffs. Just straight answers and someone who genuinely wants to see you get the result you deserve.

Princess Napo
Broker Assistant

I am an accounting graduate with 17 years of experience in banking and finance. I have also been a licensed financial adviser for nearly a year, but I continue to focus on supporting brokers in helping clients achieve their goals of purchasing a new home or refinancing their existing loans. For more than seven years, I have been assisting brokers and clients throughout their home loan journey.

Coming from a family that rented our home until I graduated, I personally understand how challenging it can be for everyday Australians to purchase a home without financial backing or support. Through hard work and determination, I was able to buy my first home, and that experience drives my passion for helping others achieve the same dream.

Australians are fortunate to have brokers like Michael, who genuinely guide and support clients in finding the right home loan solutions and better financial options. I take pride in delivering not only the best possible outcomes for our clients, but also service that goes beyond expectations.

Frequently asked questions

Do I automatically qualify for an LMI waiver as an essential worker?
Not automatically. Eligibility depends on your profession, the lender’s current policy, your loan amount, and the property you are purchasing. Policies change regularly. That is exactly why working with a specialist broker matters. We know which lenders are most likely to approve your waiver right now.
With the right lender, yes, in full. Some lenders discount overtime income or require 24 months of history. Others accept as little as 3 months if it is consistent. We identify which lender approach gives you the strongest borrowing position based on how you actually earn your income.
Yes. We specialise in structuring applications for non-standard employment. Many essential workers are on rosters, rotating contracts or part-time arrangements and we know exactly how to present your income to lenders who understand that.
It can, but less than most people expect with the right lender. Some lenders can exclude HECS from their servicing assessment if you are within a certain timeframe of paying it off. We assess your situation and find the lender whose policy works best for you.
Nothing. Our service is completely free to you. We are paid by the lender when your loan settles.
